About the programme
The Parivartan ECSS (Educational Crisis Scholarship Support) Programme is HDFC Bank’s flagship scholarship under its Parivartan corporate social responsibility initiative. It rests on one conviction: no student should have to abandon school or college because of a financial crisis at home. It is a merit-cum-need scholarship — academic performance opens the door, financial need decides who walks through it — and it is unusually wide in scope, covering students from Class 1 through postgraduate level, including diploma, ITI, polytechnic, and both general and professional degree courses.
The programme is administered through Buddy4Study and applications are submitted entirely online. Since its launch it has supported thousands of students every year — 6,553 scholars in 2025-26, 6,262 in 2024-25 and 7,684 in 2023-24 — making it one of India’s largest private scholarships aimed at financially vulnerable students.
