About the scholarship
Kind Circle is Buddy4Study India Foundation’s philanthropic initiative, built on the idea that a bright student should not drop out of education because the family cannot afford to keep them in it. Unlike most scholarships, which cover one stage of education, Kind Circle covers the whole span: a child in Class 1 and a postgraduate student are both within the same programme, judged on the same two tests of merit and need. The programme is need-based first — the final amount is set after looking at the student’s financial situation, academic background and, where conducted, interview performance — so two selected students need not receive the same sum.
That breadth is also why the programme’s pages are easy to confuse across cycles. The 2025-26 cycle closed on 25 March 2026, and pages for that cycle still circulate. This article is about the 2026-27 cycle, for which the guides checked give 31 March 2027.
Benefits
- A minimum scholarship of ₹6,000, with higher amounts possible depending on assessed financial need and interview performance.
- A one-time award for the academic year applied for; guides state explicitly that it is not automatically renewed for subsequent years of study.
- Payment direct to the selected scholar’s bank account.
- No application fee at any stage.
- Coverage across every level from Class 1 to postgraduate study, in recognised schools and colleges across India.
Who can apply
- You are an Indian national studying at a recognised school or college in India, from Class 1 up to postgraduate level.
- You are a regular student pursuing full-time education.
- You secured at least 60% marks in your previous academic year, as stated in the 2026-27 guides checked. Note the conflict: some listings for Kind Circle give 75% as the minimum. The 2026-27 guides checked give 60%, but if your marks fall between 60% and 75%, confirm the current threshold on the application page before assuming eligibility.
- Your annual family income is below ₹6 lakh from all sources.
- There is no age limit mentioned for this scholarship in the guides checked.
Documents required
The guides checked do not publish a single authoritative document checklist for the 2026-27 cycle, so none is invented here. The Kind Circle application, like other Buddy4Study need-based applications, expects academic marksheets, income proof for the ₹6 lakh limit, identity proof and bank details for payment; one programme guide also names an income certificate validating family income below ₹6 lakh. Follow the document list shown on the application page itself, since that list governs the application.
How to apply
- Confirm your level, marks and income against the eligibility list above, including the 60% versus 75% marks question if it affects you.
- Apply online through the Buddy4Study portal (the Kind Circle scholarship page, kind-circle-scholarship-for-meritorious-students-2026-27) or the Kind Circle website. Applications sent offline are not accepted.
- Log in with your Buddy4Study account or register as a new user, complete the form, and upload the documents the page asks for.
- Submit before 31 March 2027, and note that the award is one-time: track your application under “Applied Scholarships” in your Buddy4Study account, and do not assume it continues into the next academic year.
