About the scholarship
The SOF Defence Services Academic Excellence Scholarship (DSAS) 2026–27, from the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF), recognises the academic achievements of students from Defence Services and Internal Security families — families SOF notes make monumental contributions to India's safety and security. Up to 260 academically brilliant students receive a cash award of Rs 5,000 each plus a certificate.
Eligibility
- Resident of India.
- Studying in Classes 1 to 10 in a recognised school/institution.
- Belong to a serving or retired Defence Services / Internal Security Services family.
- Nominated by the school — the selection committee evaluates applications sent by schools; winners are informed individually through their schools.
Benefits
- One-time cash award of Rs 5,000 per selected student.
- Certificate of academic excellence.
- Amount deposited in the student's bank account.
Documents required
- Report card of the previous year, duly certified by the Principal
- Recommendation letter signed by the headmaster/headmistress/principal (in the specified format)
- Academic transcripts, including marksheets and certificates
