About the scheme
The UP Scholarship — formally the Uttar Pradesh Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement Online System — is the state government’s umbrella program for student financial aid, run on the official portal scholarship.up.gov.in. It covers pre-matric and post-matric students across General, SC, ST, OBC and minority categories, from Class 9 upward through graduation, postgraduation, diploma, ITI and other courses. For the 2026-27 session the state has already moved more than Rs.148 crore to over 4.60 lakh students under the scheme.
Applications are organised into three broad categories: Pre-Matric (Classes 9 and 10), Post-Matric Intermediate (Classes 11 and 12), and Post-Matric Other Than Intermediate — better known as Dashmottar — covering graduation, postgraduation, diploma, ITI and other qualifying courses. Each category has its own window, and fresh and renewal applicants have different deadlines, so the first job is to identify exactly which box you fall into.
Eligibility
